Convicting Sermon by Driscoll

22 08 2008

Aside from my personal time in the word in 2 Peter, I’m working through Nehemiah with Mars Hill in Seattle.  Mark Driscoll preached through this book back in early 2007 and right now, I’m reaping so much blessing from his teaching.

I just listened to the sermon on Nehemiah 1:11-2:8, titled “Prayer and Planning.”  As a natural planner, I was convicted on how little I pray when facing a small or large task.  I so badly want to grow in this part of my life.  I want to take my plans before the Lord and see if what I have on my mind is what is on God’s heart.  I want to lead out in prayer and take action with my plans, trusting that God is leading me and that I am in obedience to him.  Plans without prayer are useless; prayer without plans is faithless.  I want to walk in the Holy Spirit so that I can do both to the glory of God.

You can watch the sermon here.  Enjoy it.  Be edified.
